MINDROOM
Learning Management System
Introduction
Mindroom is a Learning Management System (LMS) developed by iFrame Technologies. Mindroom is an online system that enables users to set up a virtual classroom and conduct courses.
Learning management systems are applications used to setup a computer online environment enabling people to tech and train others over the internet, thus overcoming time, geographical and facilities constraints.
The application is structured in such a way that the software core learning module can support a variety of courses that can be placed under different sub domains. A custom designed content management systems, one in which you can add content in any format, is built into the core providing extreme flexibility to develop meaningful course content. Features include course time line, online tests, discussion boards, question bank generator, course editor and much more.
Administering a course is designed into the core. Administrators, faculty and students are organized to design and conduct course work. Administrators setup the course structure and content. Faculty members play a significant role in developing course work, facilitating courses and discussions, then analyzing and providing feedback on students on current and past performance.
Purpose
Real learning is not what most of us grew up thinking it was. Information is not instruction, telling is not teaching, school classrooms are not holding pens. Learning isn't pouring knowledge into heads; it's obtaining quality information, learning how to think and apply the information, then igniting a fire to move on. A true learning organization is foremost a dynamic doing organization, that's organizes people to learn, and provides the tools in their optimum mode for learning.
Real learning starts with the learner, not the teacher. People learn by solving problems, by making mistakes and correcting them, by hearing stories, by engaging multiple senses, and by following the call of their innate curiosity. Learning need not take place in classrooms, classes need not last an hour, and the strongest motivation comes from within. E-learning gives us the freedom, unstructured time, and encouragement to learn in an organized way.
